Pricing and cost setup
Open Finance > Setup to manage selling prices, margin floors and cost rules.
What a price book entry is
Create one entry per Product, Package, optional egg grade, Currency and Unit price. Enter ordinary money, not cents. Grade-specific egg prices win when available; otherwise the plain Egg price applies. A customer agreement wins over the base price. Set an agreement.
When a price applies
Set Valid from and optional Valid until. The most recent applicable start wins. Add a new dated entry for a price rise; recorded sales keep their price.
Retiring a price
Retire an entry to stop new use, including its agreements. Earlier sales stay unchanged. An audit reason is optional.
Checking a price before you quote
Pick a Product and optionally Customer in the pricing check. It shows the resolved base price without saving a sale.
Checking the margin
Enter Proposed unit price and optional Margin floor percentage to check whether the proposed price clears it. This what-if does not change your saved floor.
Recommended prices
For recommendations, the ladder works backwards from cost to price. Use default 15/20/25% targets or enter up to six Custom margin targets, comma-separated. Per-unit tax adds tax to the quoted recommendation; blank means before tax.
Margin floors
Set Product, optional Package type and Minimum margin %. All packages covers the product broadly. Below-floor sales need a reason on the line when checked by the server; exceptions appear in margin watch. Restating replaces the active floor without erasing history.
Recording an approval
Choose + Record approval, Kind, Sale and optional Lot/Product. Enter actual margin/floor or discount/threshold, and a reason of at least 10 characters. This records managerial evidence; it does not replace the sale line's required reason.
Standard costs
Choose a produced item, unit cost and currency; add an optional basis note. Supported items include chicks, harvested-bird grades and spent hens. Standards are planned fallback costs, not a replacement for recorded actual cost. Check inventory valuation separately; produced harvested birds remain outside its priced totals.
Overhead pools
Choose Broiler, Layer or Hatchery overhead, enter period Amount/Currency and apportionment: birds, feed or equal split. Check that the pool matches the production it is intended to cover.
Clearing a floor, a cost or a pool
Clear to retire it for future use; earlier prices/costings stay unchanged. An optional reason stays in Audit. Setting it again supplies a new figure.
What you get
Reusable prices and visible margin exceptions, without recalling figures per sale.
