Alert rules

Managers and Owners configure operational alerts here. Subscription and billing notices are managed by PoultryDesk and cannot be changed in your workspace. Use Filter for channel/sort; CSV exports matching delivery settings.
Setting up a delivery
- Choose + Add rule, or + Add channel on an existing alert.
- Set Alert trigger, Channel, Template and Recipient group. Create a channel template first if none exists.
- Choose Severity, Cooldown (minutes) from 1 to 10080, and Enabled.
- Save channel. Other deliveries keep their settings.
A cooldown applies per delivery. Failed sends can retry; email suppressed by organization/platform/demo settings is logged once and waits out the cooldown. Remove channel needs confirmation; removing the last removes the rule. Organization channels controls whether a channel can send at all.
The missing daily record rule
Feed checks completed organization days. A day with no feed recorded can alert; Not fed suppresses it. Feed and egg alerts have separate cooldowns.
Farm alerts - more birds dying than usual, a sale or harvest during a withdrawal, a missing daily record, a reading out of range and stock about to expire - go to Owners and Managers, so a farm with no Manager still hears about them. Change who gets them under Recipient groups.
Reading out of range tells owners and managers in-app and by email when a completed Lot task recorded a reading outside the breed guide's target for the flock's age, such as brooding temperature. It repeats at most once an hour per Lot.
Recipient groups
- Open Recipient groups and add or edit a group.
- Enter a label and choose By role or Selected members.
- Add role codes or active members, then save.
Role membership is resolved when sending. Removing someone from a group does not remove their membership. Move deliveries before archiving a used group; restore groups from Archived.
Templates
Open a template family and expand its channel. Edit subject/body, Preview, then Save. Subject applies only to email. Unknown placeholders stay as typed and show a warning; check them before saving. Reset to default restores available defaults. Each save affects only that channel; Cancel discards its draft. Billing templates are centrally managed.
Where notifications arrive
In-app, Email, SMS or Web push. The bell opens recent alerts; tap one to open its subject. In-app alerts arrive even during quiet hours.
Your personal preferences
Under Overview:
- Personal delivery: choose On, Muted or Daily digest per channel.
- Quiet hours: set both Start and End in the displayed organization time zone, then Save; clear both to remove. Email, SMS and push wait; in-app does not.
- Rule overrides: select alert, channel, delivery and optional digest time, then Save override. Turn on changes that override, not the global setting.
- Web push: register and test each device separately.
Preferences affect only you in this organization.
Digest delivery
Failed channels retry without repeating confirmed successes. A platform email pause holds digests; Organization email off skips queued digests processed while off, and turning it back on does not replay them. Rare interrupted sends may duplicate if delivery succeeded before confirmation was saved.
Channels for the whole organization
Owners/Managers open Channels. Toggle email or SMS and save each separately. Email starts on; SMS starts off and is metered. PoultryDesk provides both services. To stop one person's SMS, select Member > Block SMS; Allow SMS reverses it. Other channels are unaffected. Platform-wide availability overrides these switches; unavailable settings show a message.
Activity
Open Activity > Filter to inspect an alert/channel in organization time. Older notifications keeps filters. Download CSV exports up to 10,000 matching records, beyond the visible page.
Connecting another system with webhooks
Ask support to provision a webhook to a public HTTPS receiver. Private-network and loopback addresses cannot receive notifications from PoultryDesk.
Keeping your notifications tidy
Open the bell's full Notifications list. Filter Unread, Read, Snoozed, Archived or All; select rows and Mark read, Mark unread or Archive. Mark unread restores archived entries to the inbox. These actions queue offline and sync later; archiving does not delete history.
